Volunteering

This is a shared CAMRA event, which would not be possible without volunteers from CAMRA North Herts and Hitchin Rugby Club. Volunteers are required for setting up the festival (Monday 1st - 3rd June, during the three days it runs (4th - 6th) and for take down on Sunday 7th June 2026.

What do volunteers do?

Monday 08:00 - 16:00

Marquee build and start of fit out

Help us with: 

  • First aid
  • Moving Marquee parts
  • Moving Bar equipment
  • Eat a large lunch
  • Building Stillage (To put the Beer casks on)
  • Installing electrics
Tuesday 08:00 - 16:00

Fit out and cask bar setup

Help us with: 

  • First aid
  • Goods in
  • Set up front of house
  • Putting cask in Racking order
  • Rack casks (using the cask lift)
  • Eat a large lunch
  • Setting up cooling
  • Set up Volunteer space
Wednesday 08:00 - 16:00

Build bars

Help us with: 

  • First aid
  • Goods in
  • Fit matting behind bar areas
  • Build the bars
  • Set up glass return
  • Eat a large lunch
  • Chairs & tables to marquee
  • Vent and tap the beer
  • Get ready for volunteer meeting
Thursday 10:00 - 23:30

Get ready for opening

Help us with: 

  • First aid
  • Final tidy up
  • Cask fronts and sponsors on casks
  • Get ready for 4PM trade session
  • Serve
  • Clear up at the end of the session
Friday 11:00 - 23:30

Get ready for opening
